Outpost

Yesterday was the opening of the VCS exhibit Outpost, it went really well there was a great turn out and we received a lot of positive press including a write up in amNY and Business Week. The concept behind the exhibit was question the value of artwork, what would you trade for your piece of artwork? Artwork was hung next to little bags with the artists name on them and visitors were encouraged to fill out a form and offer a trade for the piece of artwork, it could be anything from a loaf of homemade pumpkin bread to an unlimited metro card. So much work went into this space and it truly was a success.

More VCS poster design! Today somehow I managed to print out 50 of these 5 color posters in only 6 hours.

Instant Books

I went to a bookmaking workshop with Esther Smith today and learned how to make instant books.

So my goal for this semester is to spend as much of my free time as possible in the print shop this includes Monday afternoons, Wednesday afternoons, Friday afternoons (while I'm in Gunar's class) and Saturdays (when possible). Since I'm spending so much time there another goal is to produce at least one design per week. The print I did this week was something pretty personal done for a friend of mine who has not been feeling very well recently.

Poster Design

I got a promotion at work and am now in charge of the poster design for all the artist lectures we put on at school.

First Curating Job

I got a promotion at one of my jobs and am now in charge of curating the gallery space. This was the first exhibition I put together for Student Activities week of Orientation Leader artwork.

The printshop is officially open!
